I’m a writer, filmmaker and communication professional, fascinated by stories about remarkable people and places.
Born in 1977, I started writing at age ten (a crime novel) and made my first comic strip at age eleven. After an education at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, I worked as an artist for several years, but realized my narrative qualities couldn’t be expressed properly in paintings. So I decided to stop painting and become a filmmaker instead.
In 2007, I wrote, produced and directed my first film, a short comic horror film. I proceeded to experiment with form and story in several short films, and started writing corporate films. In addition, I began supporting younger filmmakers by giving screenwriting advice and freelancing as a film lecturer (screenwriting, film analysis and film history, up to BA level). I have written about film for Cineville.nl, AFFR.nl, and ArchiNed.nl, among others.
I keep myself up-to-date by attending relevant events and reading about the newest developments in storytelling, film and communication. I am driven, empathic, sharp and interested in almost everything. I love solving complex problems, by applying a structured approach with plenty of room for new insights. I enthuse and convince with ease.
I am currently working on:
Freelance filmmaker and concept developer
Concept development, screenwriting, production and directing of corporate films, fiction and documentaries.
